So TMZ leaked this and Dumbfoundead (ft. Timothy Delaghetto) talked about it in one of his vlogs. What’re your thoughts on this?

So basically, this is an Asian Jersey Shore which is how Chelsea Lately and SNL described it. To be honest, not a lot of K-towners are happy about it. But like Tim said in Dumb’s vlog, “This is good for us.” Like mainstream media needs to see this “douchey” side of the Asian community. Society views Asian race as straight-As, martial artists, too-proud-of-culture, must-stick-with-tradition, etc. Mainstream needs to see that we’re just like everyone else. I’m a Fil-Am and JA put together. And you have no idea how many bad comments we get from the media. It’s hard for Fil-Ams and JAs to become artists, because you already know… our race is unwelcomed in the mainstream music industry and if not in music industry, just.. like, we’re so unwelcomed to the public. And if you’ve noticed, the Asian dude or chick hardly gets a cameo in a movie. So as underground Asian artists, we’ve developed our own little community of artists. (Wong Fu Productions, BTVFam [Aj Rafael, Cathy Nguyen, JRA, Andrew Garcia], etc.) Letting the top dogs know that we don’t need them. Now going back to this K-Town Reality TV show… this is good. Sure it may portray K-Towners as “douchey” people, but hey, we all know that not EVERYONE in K-Town is a douchebag. We just need mainstream to see that we’re not too different from everyone else. I’m actually excited to see what’s about to go down and how society will react to this. I watched the cast-revealed video on Youtube. I’m not sure if it’s the real cast of the show, but it definitely looks like a bunch of douchey Koreans and non-Koreans. Yes, there are non-Koreans in the cast.

Right now, I’m just thinking how they could’ve done things differently. They should’ve at least gotten a few less party people and more people who’re showing off less night-life. And more daytime life. Like explaining the lives of people supporting their families and maybe partying it off at night. You know, the same reality of other races. The whole point is to show everyone that we’re not too different from the rest of society. So people seeing this douchey-party side of Asians is good.
