The illusion
“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.” - Orson Welles
I’ve been spamming Tumblr with this quote. Doesn’t it hit you tho? Think about it. It’s true. We are born alone. Sure, we are not literally alone. Typically, we’re all born in a room full of people. But if you think about it, physically we’re not alone. But we are. I don’t know how to explain. Think of it as being the only single person in a movie theater. Everyone’s making out and stuff, and you’re watching the movie alone. You’d feel lonely right? You’re basically alone in a room full of people. Feel me now? We live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we are not alone. Stick that quote with you. Be thankful for the people who are around you who are creating the illusion for the moment that you are not alone.
You’re not the only one feeling that way. We all are.
