Max’s Of Manila in Glendale. “Banana Caramel Cheesecake.” It’s basically Turon without the jack fruit inside and replaced with cream cheese and fried to perfection. Side of whipped cream garnished with a red jello cube. And a generous squirt of caramel. (If you don’t know what Turon is, it’s basically a fried eggroll that has a big slice of banana in it. The banana is specifically a plantain banana or whatever banana that won’t fall apart when it’s deep fried in the eggroll wrapper. The finished roll is usually brushed with a heavy, dark syrup like honey after it’s been deep-friend. Most of the time, the syrup is caramelized brown sugar and butter. Usually they put a slice of jack fruit in the Turon. Yum.)

It’s the only boba/tapioca place close to my area. Or what you Canadians call it: Bubble tea. It’s not the best place, but it’s good enough. I really like the taste of their boba. The texture is very smooth and chewy — how boba is supposed to taste like. It goes really well with the drink. I like taro! Oh and every time I come here, I give big tips. LOL, like I said, they’re not the best place, but they’re one of the best. There’s another boba place not too from this one (but further from my house), called Blenders. That place is pretty bomb too. Yum yum bubble tea. I want to put up a boba cafe/tea shop.

I LOVE BREAD STICKS.

Making up for the days I missed. Went to Pat & Oscar’s today. If you live around the South Bay area and you haven’t ate there… you’re officially the lamest person on Earth. This is the Meal For 2 deal: Chicken and Pasta. It comes with unlimited bread sticks and your choice of salad: Greek or Caesar. Their bread sticks are the bomb like tick tick. It also comes with your choice of pasta sauce and here we ordered Alfredo. And you get to choose what kind of chicken you want: Bbq or Lemon. I think Lemon tastes better. What I hate is that drinks aren’t included in the deal. So we just got one large drink. It’s a pretty good deal considering it’s a meal for two, but it’s still good for three fat ass Asian chicks. Receipt: $22. They have really good family pack deals which are about $30. It comes with a lot of food. If you’re hungry and you’re with a whole bunch of other hungry people and you just want to get filled up, Pat and Oscar’s is the way to go. Then again, there’s a whole bunch of other places that are just as good or better.

Since I missed out on yesterday’s post. Here’s one of my favorite “sodas”. Honestly, I don’t really drink soda, but if I were to name my favorites, they would be: Dr. Pepper, Pibbs Xtra, Canada Dry, Mountain Dew, Martinellils apple cider, and Sunkist. Yeah, I drink the sodas that most people don’t like. But I drink tea and coffee the most. If not that, then juice or water. Coke is okay. Pepsi is nasty. Sprite is only good with you mix it with cherries to make it into a Shirley Temple (non-alcoholic version). 7UP is more tangy and has more citrus in it. Sierra Mist is like a less tangy and less citrus version of Sprite and 7UP put together. Squirt is whatever. I don’t know what else sodas they have out there. Oh and then you have Shasta, which is known for it’s fruity sodas. And then you have those store brand sodas.

Btw, when I was a kid, I used to pronounce soda as “soo-dah” or “su-dah”, not the correct way: “soh-dah”. Haha, I should start saying it the “wrong” way again. The pronunciation makes me giggle.
